Fatherhood Initiative Impact Statement

The Pi Lambda Lambda (PLL) Chapter Fatherhood Initiative (FI) is an international program within the 3rd District of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., serving Prince William County (PWC), Virginia. PLL FI aims to raise awareness about the significance of fatherhood in our communities. It collaborates with the PWC FI Program to advocate for and empower fathers, celebrating and encouraging those who play a vital role in their children’s lives. Adopting a holistic approach, PLL FI endeavors to address the needs of fathers in the PWC community, irrespective of race or economic standing.

The goal of the PLL FI is to promote responsible fatherhood by assisting fathers of all ages in achieving greater self-esteem, raising awareness of their responsibilities to their families and community, and providing the understanding and support needed for them to become successful parents. Taking a holistic approach, PLL FI strives to address the needs of fathers in the PWC community, regardless of race or economic standing. In close collaboration with the PWC FI Program, PLL FI gains valuable experience in providing support to the fathers in our community who are in the most need while also supporting specific brothers within the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., especially those within PLL.

Through collaboration with other mandated program committees, PLL FI takes a 360-degree view of all the services and support that fathers in our community need. The committee actively engages and encourages them as parents. 

The FI Committee conducted over 30 hours of service and programming in the past year.
