2024 Pi Lambda Lambda (PLL) Talent Hunt

The Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the George M. Hampton Foundation are sponsoring the Bro Curtis B. Taylor Sr. 2024 Talent Hunt.


The Pi Lambda Lambda Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. proudly announces its Annual Talent Hunt Competition on February 10, 2024, at Woodbridge High School. This competition continues a distinguished legacy of tribute to youths in the arts by our beloved Fraternity. Categories of competition are Instrumental Solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Vocal solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Piano solo (Classical, Semi-Classical, Jazz, Gospel), Dance Interpretations (Modern, Jazz, Tap, Liturgical) and Dramatic Interpretations (Poetry, dramatic reading, monologue, etc.).


This competition is open to all currently enrolled high school students (grades 9 – 12). Qualified students compete for performance scholarships in the amount of $1000 (1st Place), $750 (2nd Place), $500 (3rd Place), and $100 (4-10th Place) plus an additional $900 in incentive cash prizes. 

The winner will then compete at the 91st Annual Third District Meeting in April 2024 at the Hilton Mark Center, Alexandria, Virginia. The Applicants must submit a 30-second audition video performance showcasing their talent. Cell phone videos are acceptable. Video files should be uploaded to the Contestant Application.

  • All presentations, including instrumental numbers, must be memorized, dignified, and in good taste.
  • All performances must be “single performer” acts. Duets, trios, quartets, etc. are not eligible.
  • Track music may be used for accompaniment as long as no lead instrumental or background vocals are included on the track.
  • Contestants in the instrumental, piano, and vocalist (including those using Track music) categories must provide three (3) copies of sheet music to the judges. Sheet music can generally be obtained via the Internet. Contestants in the Drama category must offer scripts for their speech. Dance contestants have no requirements for sheet music.
  • All contestants must submit a Parental Consent Form.
  • Performance may not exceed 6 minutes without penalty.
